Advantages Mirrorless Cameras Have Over DSLRs
1. They’re Smaller And Lighter
Because mirrorless cameras do not have to fit a mirror and a pentaprism inside them, they can be made to be a lot smaller and more compact. In fact, this is the main reason why a lot of people are opting for mirrorless cameras.
With mirrorless cameras, you get a very good camera, similar quality to a DSLR, but in a much smaller package. This is great for people who travel a lot and like to keep their load small, for vloggers, people with smaller hands, and generally people who prefer a lighter kit.
2. Continuous Shooting
Mirrorless cameras often have better continuous shooting rates than equivalent DSLR cameras. This is because, mirrorless cameras do not have any moving parts, whereas, DSLRs, do. When the shutter button is clicked on a DSLR, the mirror needs to flip upwards so that light can hit the camera’s sensor. It is when the light hits this sensor that the image is captured.

Canon has been really reluctant to dive in head-first into the world of mirrorless cameras. Because of that, it doesn’t come as a surprise to us that this Canon camera is a DSLR, especially considering how far back it was produced.
Although there’s a lot of talk about mirrorless cameras, there are a lot of people who would never let DSLRs go, at least, not just yet. And this is for good reason, DSLRs still have their strengths, areas in which they do better than mirrorless cameras.
In a DSLR, you have a mirror and a pentaprism. The light in the field of view of the camera enters into the camera through the camera’s lens. When the shutter is closed, this light hits a mirror. This mirror then divides this light into two parts.
The first part of the light is sent upwards to the pentaprism. This pentaprism then straightens the light, horizontally, before it’s sent to the optical viewfinder. We’ve already talked extensively about optical viewfinders. So, if you want to, you can scroll up to find all that information.
The second part of the light is sent downwards to a specific sensor. This sensor is responsible for autofocusing. This is why a lot of people feel like DSLRs have better autofocusing than mirrorless cameras.

Furthermore, mirrorless cameras come with a lot of electronic features. DSLRs, on the other hand, feature a lot of more mechanical features. These electronic features all depend on power to function. Meanwhile, mechanical parts do not.
